Verifications

Verifications are at the heart of our pursuit to create a family-friendly, safe environment on our platform. Each verification serves to educate our community about the identity and background of a person on the platform. Since we are not directly affiliated with coaches and athletes, this is our way of vetting our community of sellers.

We strive for perfection when it comes to validating the identities and legal backgrounds of users. The process we use leaves no stone unturned. Background Verifications are completed with Checkr, our third-party background check service, combined with in-house processes for finding legal and public records. Insignia Verifications are done through a mix of in-person meetups, online calls, and referrals.

Importantly

1. Verifications do not validate statements regarding coaching or athletic experience: We do not, and cannot, verify the statements made by users in their descriptions and biographies. Carefully consider the validity of statements of any user, including verified users.

2. There are two distinct verifications that serve different purposes: These include our Background Verification and Insignia Verification. More information about each can be found below.

3. Verifications are non-refundable: If a verification is purchased and a user does not meet our criteria to receive one, they will not be paid back. This prevents people from attempting to buy verifications they cannot earn.

4. A failed verification could result in a ban from our platform: We do not tolerate identity fraud or criminal activity of any kind. A person should refrain from buying a Background Verification if they question their ability to meet our criteria for receiving one.

5. Verifications are imperfect: It is currently impossible to ensure that 100% of people's legal records are obtained. We call on our community to do their own research on a person they are purchasing from, especially if they plan to meet them in-person.

6. We do not store, sell, or share specific verification results: Verification failures are not disclosed either. The only indication of a verification result is the presence of the verification icon next to a user's name.

This verification icon says, "I am who I say I am, and I have completed a thorough background check." Coaches and athletes that sell services that create in-person interactions should have a Background Verification. This ensures that they do not have a history related to fraud, sexual misconduct, violence, stalking, and more. After completion, the seller's name is frozen. Background Verifications also create the ability to sell products with location features.

Criteria:

Never convicted of a felony of any kind.
Not listed on national or state sex offender registries.
Never convicted of a misdemeanor related to child endangerment, fraud, stalking, battery, assault, domestic violence, theft, indecent exposure, harassment, lewd or lascivious behavior, prostitution, and more.

This verification icon says, "I am who I say I am, I have completed a thorough background check, and I am a role model in the community." It is also reserved for Public Figures who may be the target of identity fraud on our platform or be confused with someone with the same name.

Personally known to our community.
Sought after by customers.
